Trained at The Arts Education Schools, London (ArtsEd London), Demi Banwo stands as a dynamic actor, seamlessly navigating the realms of TV, stage, and musical theatre productions. In September 2016, he culminated his intensive acting training, earning a Master's degree in Acting from ArtsEd London.Prior to his foray into the world of acting, Demi lent his charismatic presence as an On-Air Presenter at Smooth 98.1 FM, anchoring captivating primetime shows. As an actor in Nigeria, he left an indelible mark, notably portraying the recurring character of Yemi in Ndani's TV show Gidi Up, broadcast on AfricaMagic Entertainment, YouTube, and OHTV in the UK. His versatility further manifested in the role of JoGo on AfricaMagic's Hotel Majestic and as a cast member in the inaugural international run of Wakaa The Musical in London, as well as the Johannesburg run of Kakadu the Musical.From 2016 to 2019, Demi showcased his multifaceted talents by producing and starring in three seasons of RedTV's Inspector K comedy series. Beyond the screen, he served as Co-Creative Director and Stage Manager for Adekunle Gold’s momentous headlining concert, "One Night Stand with Adekunle Gold." His acting prowess shone in noteworthy projects such as EbonyLife Films’ Chief Daddy, Abba Makama's The Lost Okoroshi, and the M-Net tele-novela series, Riona.Demi's cinematic journey extended to international acclaim with his role in the BBC-commissioned short film, Lizard, which earned the Grand Jury Award for Best Short Film at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and a BAFTA Award nomination in the Best Short Film Category.Demi's influence extends beyond the screen, with his executive role at Depth and Optics Productions, a flourishing content production company. Here, his vision for nurturing talent takes center stage, as he spearheads projects such as Everything Scatter and Gangs of Lagos, collaborating closely with director Jade Osiberu to elevate both the artists and the narratives they bring to life.
